4.7.2 Changing Header Drive Gearbox Oil
Change oil after the first 50 hours of operation. Perform subsequent oil changes every 250 hours or annually (preferably
before the start of the cutting season).
WARNING
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected startup of machine, always stop engine and remove key from ignition
before leaving operators seat for any reason.

1. Clean around oil drain plug (A) on the bottom of the
gearbox and around oil level plug (B) on the inboard side of
the gearbox.
2. Place a 4 liter (1 gal. [US]) container under drain (A).
3. Remove hex plug (A).
4. Allow sufficient time for oil to drain, reinstall oil drain
plug (A), and tighten.
5. Remove the check plug (B) and fill plug (C).
6. Add lubricant through hole (C) until the oil level is even
with check hole (B). Refer to for a list of recommended fluid
and lubricant types and amounts.
7. Replace the check plug (B) and fill plug (C). Tighten plugs.
8. Clean up any spilled oil and properly dispose of used oil
and wipes.
9. Lower the cutterbar curtain. Refer to 3.7.2 Closing
Cutterbar Curtain, page 43.
