4.10.4 Installing the WRI receiver outside the machine
The WRI receiver may also be installed outside the machine. It is necessary to adopt a series of precautions
in order to guarantee reliable communications. In particular, if the WRI receiver is installed outside the
machine and there is no direct line-of-sight path to the WRP transmitter, the following rules must be
observed:
• The WRI receiver must be mounted on a panel and not inside a cavity or enclosure of any kind;
• A hemispherical space around the WRI receiver must be kept free from all electrically conductive
objects; the hemisphere must have a radius of 500 mm.

N.B.:
Generally speaking, if they are installed inside the machine, the WRI receiver and WRP
transmitter are shielded from external interference. If the WRI receiver is installed externally, the
machine structure becomes an additional obstacle to be overcome.
