4.2 Using the core temperature sensor
WARNING
Risk of injury from a bursting core temperature sensor
The core temperature sensor can burst as the result of
overheating of the measuring tip.
Never heat a core temperature sensor with a cigarette lighter
or other heat source.
Measuring the core temperature is recommended for all types of
cooking to achieve an optimal result.
To ensure that the target core temperature is reached reliably,
the cooking temperature must be set at least 5 °C higher.
4.2.1 Measuring with a 4-point core temperature sensor
The core temperature sensor measures the temperature at four
measuring points. The temperature measured at the coldest spot is
used to control the cooking process. The tip of the core temperature
sensor can protrude out of the core of the food.
