T1 Trunking
Availability: DS2000 only.
T1 trunking requires a unique T1 PCB (P/N 80061) and gives the
system a maximum of 24 trunks in a single PCB slot. The avail-
able T1 trunk types include:
ā Loop Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
ā Ground Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
ā Direct Inward Dial (DID) Wink Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
ā Direct Inward Dial (DID) Immediate Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
ā E&M Tie Line Wink Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
ā E&M Tie Line Immediate Start (DTMF and Dial Pulse)
T1 gives the system the advantages of advanced digital trunking as well as conserving PCB slots.
For example, you can set up a system with 12 loop start trunks, six tie lines, and six DID trunks and
use only a single PCB slot. Additionally, the T1 PCB has its own on-board processor and DSP so it
minimally impacts other system resources.
Note: Although the T1 PCB can connect directly to the telcoās T1 smart jack, your telco may
require that you purchase and install a separate Channel Service Unit (CSU). This unit installs
between the smart jack and the T1 PCB.
ANI/DNIS Support
The system is compatible with telco's T1 Automatic Number Identiļ¬cation (ANI) and Dialed Num-
ber Information Service (DNIS) services. ANI/DNIS services can be provided on T1 loop start and
DID trunks. ANI/DNIS Compatibility provides:
Caller ID Detection Timer
With DSP-based Caller ID, the Caller ID Detection Timer is the
amount of time between the ļ¬rst and second ring bursts that the
system can detect Caller ID digits. If this timer is set too long,
the outside caller will hear ringing followed by reorder tone. If
set too short, all the Caller ID digits may not be detected. This
timer is not used with DS2000 daughter board-based Caller ID.
Ground Start Timer
Not used.
Pause Timer
Not used.
DP Mute Timer
Not used.
P.F. Recovery Detect
Timer
When the ATRU PCB recovers from a power failure, it checks
the power failure trunk (trunk 1) for loop current for the P.F.
Recovery Detect interval. If loop current is detected, it assumes
the Power Failure Telephone is still connected and does not tear
down the call. If loop current is not detected, the ATRU PCB
switches the trunk out of the power failure mode.
