Volume Controls
Availability: All versions
A keyset user can press VOL ▲ and VOL ▼ to adjust the volume
of the following features while they are active. Note that the cate-
gories grouped together are the same control. For example,
adjusting Intercom ringing also adjusts trunk ringing.
● Incoming Intercom and trunk ringing

broadcast through the telephone speaker

Additionally, these features retain the user-set volume levels after a system reset or power-down.
There are six steps in the Volume Control adjustment range. This makes it easier for the keyset user
to set up just the right volume levels.
Enhanced Volume and Contrast Control
Volume Control
Enhanced Volume/Contrast control provides individual controls for:
● Intercom handset calls
● Intercom Handsfree calls
● Trunk handset calls
● Trunk Handsfree calls
● Paging receive volume
● Background Music
● Ringing
● Off-Hook Ringing
There are seven user-selectable values for each setting, and each of these settings is “remembered”
by the system. In the event of a power down or system reset, each setting is automatically restored.
The user can set the volume while the feature is active or by using the Volume Control Soft Key
Menu (see Operation below).
Contrast Control
While a 22-Button or 34-Button Display Telephone is idle, pressing VOL ▲ or VOL ▼ adjusts the
contrast of the display. There are seven user-selectable contrast control values. The value a user sets
is “remembered” by the system and automatically restored in the event of a power down or system
reset. Contrast Control is not available in Super Display Telephones.
