ATRU
Analog trunk port.

ASTU
Analog station port.

Attendant
The attendant is the system operator. A system can have up to 4 atten-
dants. Normally, the attendant is set up with unique call processing capa-
bilities.

Attendant Call Queuing
The method by which Intercom callers queue for the attendant. Since the
attendant is never considered busy for Intercom calls, these types of calls
“stack up” under the attendant’s Operator Call Key. This key is perma-
nently assigned on each attendant extension.

Auto Redial
The system can periodically retry a busy outside number.

Automatic Handsfree
A keyset user can place or answer a call by just pressing a key, without
lifting the handset or pressing SPK first.

Automatic Hold
Allows an extension user to be on an outside (trunk) call, activate a fea-
ture, and automatically place the call on HOLD. See also Exclusive Hold
on page 142, Intercom Hold on page 144, and System Hold on page 151
in this glossary.

Automatic Slot
Configuration
The DS2000 automatically installs PCBs when you power up the system.
