Setup Items in PDL Settings Menu

Raster Parameters
Raster parameters specify the condition to draw raster data.

Binary Image Scale
Sets the scaling mode when scaling binary image data.

Photo Mode Maintains the density when scaling binary image data.
(Performs simple sampling.)

Line Art Mode Maintains the lines when scaling binary image data.

Screening (only with HP-GL and D-SCAN)
The parameter species the screening method for multi-valued image.

Line Art Mode For multi-valued image data, performs screening suitable
for line art.
Graphic Mode For multi-valued image data, performs screening suitable
for computer graphics.
Photo Mode For multi-valued image data, performs screening suitable
for photos. Some processing time is required for Line Art
Mode and Graphic Mode.

Uniformity eects
This setting can be used only when Graphic Mode is selected in the Screening
setting.
This setting further reduces density unevenness in case density unevenness in the
low-density parts appears in spite of the Graphic Mode selected for the Screening
setting.

Standard Uniformity processing is not performed.
Better uniformity Uniformity processing is performed. (Print quality is less
than with Standard.)
High uniformity Uniformity processing is performed. (Print quality is less
than with Better uniformity.)
