Fault Cause Solution
Water is coming out be-
tween the portalter and
the brew group.
The portalter has not
been installed correctly.
Install the portalter
correctly (see Chapter 9.7,
“Inserting the portalter
in the brew group”).
The gasket is worn. Replace the gasket (see
Chapter 12.3, “Replacing
the brew group gasket”).
The water tank cannot be
fully inserted.
The water tank is in the
wrong orientation.
Orient the water tank cor-
rectly and try again (see
Chapter 11.5.1, “Orientation
of the water tank”).
The advanced menu set-
tings are not shown.
The menu is hidden. Call up the advanced set-
tings menu (see Chapter
10.4, “Advanced menu
(user) settings”).
The machine is switched
on and the steam tilt
valve is open, but no
steam is coming out of
the steam nozzle.
The steam nozzle is
blocked.
Clean the steam nozzle
(see Chapter 11.3, “Clean-
ing the steam and hot
water nozzles”).
The boiler temperature
has not been reached.
Wait until the set steam
temperature (see Chapter
10.3.3, “Steam Temp”) has
been reached.
Steam boiler switched off. Switch on the steam
boiler (see Chapter 9.3.3,
“Switching the steam
boiler on or off”).
The machine is not react-
ing to inputs.
The settings were
changed or other un-
known causes.
Reset the machine (see
Chapter 13.1.1, “Resetting
the machine”).
