3.1 Outline of Optical System
Light from the Xenon lamp is reflected by mirror EL and the back mirror, passes through the window
and is focused to be incident on the slit EX. Light exiting the slit EX is incident on the EX grating. Light
separated by the EX grating passes through the beam splitter to be incident on the flow cell. If there
are fluorescent substances present on the flow cell, fluorescence occurs and strikes mirror EM1.
Fluorescent light reflected by mirror EM1 strikes mirror EM2, and the fluorescent light reflected by
mirror EM2 passes through slit EM_IN to be incident on the EM grating. The fluorescent light incident
on the EM grating is further separated, and passes through slit EM_OUT to be incident on the
photomultiplier tube (PMT). The light energy is amplified internally by the PMT, and the resulting
signals are sent to the control board.
