6 Optical Adjustments
6.1 Optical Adjustments
This chapter explains replacement methods when replacement of detector parts is required and the
various adjustments to be made after replacement of parts.
Warning
Be sure to observe the following points when performing work
inside the detector.
Disconnect the power cable and turn the power OFF when power supply is not necessary.
To prevent the risk of burns, wait an hour for the temperature inside the detector to fall.
Do no loosen the mirror M1 assembly fixing screws to remove the mirror 1 assembly. This will
cause the optical axis on the EM side to shift, which will cause the height of the peak of the
Raman spectrum of water to change, resulting in wavelength variance.
While the Xenon lamp is lit, wear gloves and protective goggles as a measure against burns
and UV light. If necessary, wear light-filtering goggles to protect the eyes from light from the
Xenon lamp.
When removing the light-filtering jig (P/N228-52012-91), be sure to adopt burn preventative
measures such as wearing gloves, since the jig is heated by the lamp light.
When removing the front panel assembly (with Peltier cooling fan) to perform optical
adjustments, be sure to turn cell temperature adjustment OFF. When cell temperature
adjustment is ON, the Peltier will generate abnormal heat, resulting in burns or generation of
the CELL TEMP ERROR.
When performing optical adjustments, take care to prevent burns by 0-order light.
6.2 Flow chart for Optical Adjustment
1. Oval Mirror Adjustment
Rough [ Jig requirement :
M4 Spacer and Mesh
filte
Criteria: A focus is united with EX entrance slit.
2. EX Grating adjustment
[ Jig requirement :
Cell Position Target Jig
Criteria1: The height of the 0th light is united with phi7 opening center.
Criteria2: 200 is inputted into EX PULSE and the 0th light is made in agreement with
the intersection of JIG TARGET.
Criteria3:
900 is inputted into EX PULSE, and it adjusts so that 630nm light may be in
agreement with the intersection of JIG TARGET
3. PD Assy & Beam Splitter Adjustment
[ Jig requirement :
Criteria1: Direction of Beam Splitter is adjusted so that the height of the 0th light may
become the same as that of the height of the slit of PD ASSY.
