3. ChecktheLMV5faulthistory.Ifthefaultsalwaysoccurinphase38,theCANbuserrorsare
beingcausedbynoisefromtheignitiontransformer.Makesuretheignitiontransformeris
groundedproperlyandhasagoodneutral.Also,makesureanyCANbuswiresthatrun
closetotheignitiontransformerareinproperconduit.Itmaybenecessarytoeither
relocatetheignitiontransformeroraddashieldbetweentheignitiontransformerandany
nearbyCANbuswires.
4. Unplugthe6‐pingreenconnectorpluggedintoterminalX51onthetopoftheLMV5.This
leavestheAZL,theLMV5,andthecablebetweenthemastheonlyCANbuscomponentsstill
pluggedin.ResetthefaultontheLMV5.Atthi
spoint,twothingscanhappen:
IftheAZLfaultswith“FaultFeedbackAirActuator”,thentheAZL,theLMV5,andthe
cablebetweenthemareallworkingproperly.Thismeansthatthereislikelyanissue
withthewiringoftheactuatorsorO

module.Gotostep5.
IfthesameCANbusfaultrecurs,thenthereisaproblemwiththeAZL,theLMV5,or
thecablebetweenthem.Checkthewiringandterminationsonthecable.Though
unlikely,theAZLortheLMV5mightbedamagedandneedtobereplaced.Ifaspare
AZLisavailable,tryit.IfnospareAZLispresent,checkforanynoticeabledamageto
eithertheAZLortheLMV5todeterminewhichcomponenttoreplace.
5. TofindthewiringissuewiththeactuatorsorO
2
module,plugcomponentsbackinoneata
timetoterminalX51ontheLMV5todeterminewhichcomponentiscausingtheCANbus
errors.First,pluginjustthecable(unpluggedfromtheactuator)thatconnectsthefirst
actuatortoterminalX51ontheLMV5.ResetthefaultontheLMV5.If“FaultFeedbackAir
Actuator”showsupagain,thecableitselfisokay.Next,pluginjustthefirstactuator
(unpluggedfromthecablerunningtothesecondactuator).ResetthefaultontheLMV5.
Aslongasactuatorfeedbackfaultscontinuetoshowupaftereachcomponentispluggedin
andtheLMV5isreset,continuetopluginanothercomponent.Atsomepoint,pluggingina
componentshouldcausetheCANbusfaulttorecur.
6. OncethecomponentcausingtheCANbuserrorshasbeenfound,checkthefollowingto
correcttheproblem:
Makesureallterminationstotheactuatoraredoneproperlyandnowirestrands
fromadjacentpinsaretouchingoneanotherand
causingashort.
