9.9 KP32F – Sensor evaluation of the fail-safe channels
Note
For digital inputs that are reserved with a fail-safe channel, the process image described in
the chapter "KP32F - Bit assignment in the process image (Page 119)" is not u
sed.
The fail-safe channels occupy the following address areas in the process image of the fail-
safe controller:
Input area Output area
x + 0 to x + 4 x + 0 to x + 3
x The start address for the input and output range.
The address was entered on the "Addresses" tab in the HW Config in the object
properties of the module "KP32F, slot 5".
The first byte in the process image describes the switch state of the connected sensors or a
connected EMERGENCY STOP button. The setting is described in the section "Setting the
fail-safe p
ro
perties (Page 89)".
Note
The unused bits in the byte 0 are always "0".
The following evaluations are possible:
● FI.0.FI.1 disabled, FI.2.FI.3 disabled
Slot 5 was not set. No evaluation occurs.

Slot 5 parameters were set to "FI.0.FI .1 1oo1, FI.2.FI .3 disabled". The connected
sensors are evaluated.

Bits 4 and 5 determine if the respective sensor contact is open or closed. The bits may
take on the following values:
– 0 = Open sensor contact
– 1 = sensor contact closed
