2.3.2 SELECTING THE LOCATION OPTION (SUPPLY/RETURN)
For thermal energy applications, even though the same liquid flows through the supply and return lines,
its density varies due to the temperature difference in the lines. Use the [Location] menu cell to inform
the energy flowmeter on which line type (supply or return) you intend to install the flow transducers. You
can change this setting at any time without having to repeat the installation procedure.
To edit the Location setting:
To move from [Application Data] to [Location] press
To move the cursor to [Location] menu list press
To scroll the list to move to desired Location press
To register your choice press
2.3.3 HOW TO SELECT ENERGY SERVICE
This service menu cell stores the type of service you require. You can choose among Heating, Cooling or
Heat Pump.
If you choose Heating, the energy meter interprets a higher supply temperature than return temperature
as a positive Temperature Differential (Td). In this case, negative Temperature Differentials will not re-
duce the accumulated energy total.
If you choose Cooling, the energy meter interprets a lower supply temperature than return temperature
as a positive Temperature Differential (Td). As with Heating, negative Temperature Differentials will not
reduce the accumulated energy total.
If you choose Heat Pump, the energy meter interprets a lower supply temperature than return tempera-
ture to be a positive Td. In this case, the energy meter accumulates Cooling and Heating energy data
using separate Energy Totalizer registers. Note that neither one of these registers will decrement while
the other is accumulating.
ENT
The selection of [Stm Condensate] forces the use of a [Return] flow measurement location. Also
the Service type is forced to [Heating] (as shown below). These menus are locked, so they
cannot be altered without first changing the selected liquid to something other than [Stm
Condensate].
