CUTTING small bit or small double bit keys
Clamp: S1- K1 =
indicates which clamp (
S1
) and tailstock (
K1
) to use for gripping the key.
Stop 0 =
reference or positioning point on the key cutting clamp.
Cutter: 1.25 =
thickness of the cutter currently selected (press SHIFT+ENTER to change thickness).
Brass/Steel =
material of the key (press SHIFT+ ? to change material).
Adapter E10
= shows the adapter to fit on the rotating clamp in order to position the key properly.
ATTENTION: always check that the wording corresponds to the material of the key.
The key blank to be cut must be positioned according to the
parameters given on the display after selecting the program
involved; the type of key (small bits) with front stop requires the
use of adapter
E10
and the key reference on “Stop 0”.
Please follow the instructions below carefully, and observe the
order of operations.
1) Loosen the knob (T1) by turning it anticlockwise until the
rotating clamp (S1) can be moved to a convenient distance
for fitting the key).
2) Orient the standard tailstock (K1) for male keys in the
special seat on the support, using the screw (V2) to direct it
upwards (fig. 76).
Fig. 76
3) Take the ‘T’ wrench (T4) from its seat and fit into the screw (V1) (fig. 76),
then loosen until the jaws are fully open. At the end of the operation do
not remove the ‘T’ wrench from the screw (V1).
4) Fit the key blank into the adapter E10, taking care to position it properly
(fig. 77); tighten the (P) screw.
ATTENTION:
For single bit keys the distance between the adapter and the end of the bit
should be at least 2-3 mm (fig. 77). For double bit keys the distance between
the adapter and the end of the bit should be at least 8 mm (fig. 77). If these
measurements are not observed the display will show an error: “ERROR 17
Adapter not properly fitted”.
