underside of the machine (mowing
blade, mowing deck), tilt the robotic mower
onto its left or right side as illustrated and
lean it against a wall.
● Clean off dirt with a brush or a cloth. In
particular, also clean the mowing blade
and the docking station.
● Detach accumulated clipping deposits
in the housing and in the mowing deck
beforehand using a stick.
● If necessary, use a special cleaner
(e.g. STIHL special cleaner).
● Regularly remove the carrier plate and
remove grass residues. (Ö 16.6)
16.3 Checking the mowing blade wear
limits
● Activate the disabling device. (Ö 5.2)
● Tilt the robotic mower onto its side and
lean it securely against a stable wall.
Carefully clean the mowing deck and
mowing blade. (Ö 16.2)
Check the blade width A and blade
thickness B using a slide calliper.
If the blade width is less than 25 mm or the
blade thickness is less than 1,3 mm at any
point, the mowing blade must be replaced.
16.4 Removing and installing the
mowing blade
● Activate the disabling
device (Ö 5.2) and wear
gloves.
● Tilt the robotic mower onto its side and
lean it securely against a stable wall.
Carefully clean the mowing deck and
mowing blade. (Ö 16.2)
Removing the blade:
Push in both tabs (1) on the
carrier plate with one hand and
hold. Remove the fastening
nut (2) with your other hand.
Remove the mowing blade together with
the fastening nut.
Installing the mowing blade:
● Clean the blade, carrier plate and
fastening nut prior to installation.
The carrier plate must be cleaned
frequently in wet weather. Dirt
deposits between the carrier plate
and the mowing deck housing
create friction, leading to increased
power consumption.
Risk of injury!
A worn mowing blade may break off
and cause serious injuries. The
instructions for blade maintenance
must therefore always be observed.
Mowing blades are subject to
differing degrees of wear
depending on the location and
duration of use. If you use the
machine on sandy ground or use it
frequently under dry conditions, the
mowing blade will be subjected to
greater loads and will wear more
quickly than normal.
Replace the mowing blade at least
every 200 operating hours – do not
resharpen. (Ö 16.5)
Risk of injury!
Check the blade for damage before
installation. The blade must be
replaced if notches or cracks are
identified or if its width is less than
25 mm, or its thickness is less than
1,3 mm at any point. (Ö 16.3)
The carrier plate and the
fastening nut must also be
replaced if damaged (e.g. broken,
worn). The fastening nut in
particular must engage cleanly in
the carrier plate.
