5.3 USB INTERFACE NOTES
5.3.1 USB SPECIFICATIONS
The cutters built –in USB interface are based on the standards, specified in Universal
Serial Bus Specifications Revision 1.1
The recommend cable length should be 5 meter or less.
The adaptable connector type is USB Series “B”
The specifications of the cable should be a USB Series A 4-pin for the computer side
and a USB Series b 4-pin for the cutter side.
5.3.2 INSTALLING THE USB SOFTWARE UNDER WINDOWS
1. Verify if your software supports a USB driver.
Minimum configuration should be WIN98 or WIN2000.
2. Plug the cable connector securely into the cutter’s USB interface connector. Plug
the other end of the cable into the PC’s USB interface connector.
3. The PC will find the new USB device and ask for the driver. Follow the instructions
on the screen after you have put the Summa-Cutter CD ROM in your CD-ROM
drive.
4. Finally the device driver is installed.
5. Restart your PC. Beside the USB connector on the cutter you will find a LED that is
on or blinking. If not, no proper connection is made.
6. To test your connection, use SummaCutterControl.
