1.7 Embedded Controller
The Embedded Controller supports one high-speed, 16550 compatible serial communication
port (UART). Each UART includes a 16-byte send/receive FIFO, a programmable baud rate
generator, complete modem control capability and a processor interrupt system. The UART
supports speeds with a baud rate of 115.2 Kbps, 57.6 Kbps, 38.4 Kbps, 19.2 Kbps, and 9.6
Kbps.
The Embedded Controller provides functions that comply with Advanced Configuration and
Power Interface (ACPI), which includes support of legacy and ACPI power management
through an SMI or SCI function pin. It also features auto power management to reduce power
consumption.
