32-40-07 Nose Wheel
Removal
▶ Place a jack under the nose gear attachment bracket, so that the nose
wheel is ~5 cm from ground. Refer to Chapter
07-10-02 Jacking the
Aircraft Front
.
▶ Bend the tab washers.
▶ Remove 2 nuts from the nose wheel axle.
▶ Remove the nose wheel axle and spacer rings.
▶ Remove nose wheel.
Installation
▶ Lubricate wheel axle and wheel bearing with grease lightly.
▶ Insert axle through the one wheel fork side.
▶ Slip first spacer ring over.
▶ Insert axle into the wheel. Orient the wheel so that the valve is hooked
to the left side.
▶ Slip the second spacer ring over.
▶ Insert axle through the other side of wheel fork.
▶ Screw on the nuts with tab washers.
▶ Secure the tab washers.
Disassembly
Disassembly of nose wheel must be carried out e.g. for tire change.
▶ Deflate tire.
▶ Remove 5 Allen screws.
▶ Disassemble wheel.
Assembly
▶ Assemble in reverse sequence of disassembly.
32-50 Steering
The steering mechanism consists of push pull-rods and levers
connecting the pedals with the nose gear strut.
