7.10 BCB Cabinet (Optional)- Applicable for APAC Region
The BCB cabinet can also electrically isolate the UPS from the battery to minimize the danger of the service personnel at
work.
The BCB provides the following functions:
Short circuit protection and EOD protection. The BCB opens automatically when the battery voltage drops to the
EOD voltage point.
Support the UPS EPO function. The BCB opens automatically when the EPO switch on the touchscreen of the
UPS is pressed.
Table 7.3 below provides the mechanical specifications of the BCB cabinet.

The BCB Cabinet should be installed as close as possible to the battery. It can be installed on a wall or a horizontal surface
through the installation holes shown in Figure 7.4 on the facing page.
Refer to Figure 7.4 on the facing page to Figure 7.5 on page123 to install and connect the BCB cabinet. There are connection
terminals in the BCB cabinet for connecting the power cables from the UPS and battery. Before UPS start-up, lead the signal
cables out of the BCB cabinet and then connect them to the left port of J22 of UPS bypass module.
N O T E: The B C B cabin et can use top and bottom cable entry. It provides tw o big an d one sm all cable
entry holes on both the top plate and bottom plate. T he b ig ones are for pow er cable en try, and the
sm all one is for signal cable entry. After connection, take appropriate m easures to seal the cable
entry holes.
N O T E: The sig nal cable W 812 m ust run separate from the b attery pow er cab les. W 812 is a shield
cable, b oth ends of its shield layer m ust be connected to the en closure. T he UP S and BC B cabinet
m u st be earthed separately.
N O T E: If you need to connect two or m ore BC B boxes in parallel, note that the connectio n cab les of
the B C B boxes should be in the sam e length to ensure g ood load sharin g am on g the BC B boxes, thus
avoid ing m isaction of on e o f the B C B s d ue to lo ad sh aring im balance. T he num ber of the parallel-
conn ected BCB boxes should not exceed four.
N O T E: M ake sure that the U P S rectifier has started before closing the BC B .
