Chapter 3: Configuration 3.6 Setting the Configuration
493-0736-11 (6-2) 191
Connection to the analog source is made via the input Signalx (where x = 1, 2 or
3). If Signalx is off then the corresponding bar graph is turned off. The text “Off”
is shown on the display instead of a numerical value when the signal is accessed
from the Operator option List.
Table 145 EMA60 Operator Block Inputs.
Display
By pressing the next key on the front panel the value of Signal1, Signal2 or
Signal3 can be presented on the display, scaled in the selected engineering units
(EGU). The value of the Signal input is always truncated internally in the range
0.0% to 100.0%. The scaling into EGU is made using the truncated range.
The EGU scaling is determined by the parameters MinValue and MaxValue. Five
significant digits are available.
For example:
•Setting the NumberOfDecimals parameter to two (2) makes MinValue and
MaxValue range from –999.99 to 999.99.
•Setting the NumberOfDecimals parameter to four (4) makes MinValue and
MaxValue range from –9.9999 to 9.9999.
Note: If the value to be displayed exceeds five digits at any time, the rightmost
digit is dropped.
The parameter Unit adds a unit label on the display.
Tag is a text string displayed on the top line of the display in Operator Mode when
the section is selected for display. Tag can hold twenty (20) characters, but the top
line cannot display all of them. If the length of Tag is less than or equal to 16, the
full length is displayed. If the length of Tag is greater than 16, then 15 characters
are displayed followed by the character “…”.
