Refilling oil to axis-2 gearbox

WARNING
Handling gearbox oil involves several
safety risks, see Gearbox lubricants (oil or
grease) on page 30.

CAUTION
The gearbox can contain an excess of
pressure that can be hazardous. Open the
oil plug carefully in order to let the excess
pressure out.

Open the upper oil plug.
Note
The lower oil plug has to be closed; other-
wise, the oil may leak before required oil
amount is filled.

WARNING
Overfilling of gearbox lubricant can lead to
internal over-pressure inside the gearbox
which in turn may:
• damage seals and gaskets
• completely press out seals and
gaskets
• prevent the robot from moving
freely.

Type of oil and total amount is detailed in
Technical reference manual - Lubrication
in gearboxes.
Refill the gearbox with oil.
Note
The amount of oil to be filled depends on
the amount previously being drained.

CAUTION
Oil filling must be slow to make sure air
venting is fluent.
