4.1. Operation Safety
Keep away from rotating and moving parts, including the auger/mixer flighting, drive
components, shafts, and bearings.
Lock the grain dryer access points (where equipped) and close all other access doors when
not in use.
Always operate with guards, covers, and shields in place.
Ensure maintenance has been performed and is up to date.
Ensure that electrical cords are in good condition; replace if necessary.
The area around the heater should be kept clear and free from combustible materials and
other flammable liquids.
When heater is not in use, shut off gas valve on heater and at gas source.
Have another trained person nearby who can shut down any powered loading, unloading, or
internal equipment in case of accident.
Keep the work area clean and free of debris.
