Turning p ower on, or sending
*RST
or
:ABORT
forces the trigger
system to the idle state. The trigger system remains in the
idle state until it is initiated by
INITiate:IMMediate
or
INITiate:CONTinuous ON
. Once one of these conditions is satised,
the trigger system exits downward to the
initiate
state. Note that
*RST
sets
INITiate:CONTinuous OFF
.
Whenever the trigger system leaves the idle state, it sets the
instrument's Op eration Pending Flag. Returning to idle clears
the ag. The
Operation Pending Flag
is a sp ecial bit inside the
instrument that can aect how the instrument resp onds to certain
commands. You need to know this fact when using
*OPC
,
*OPC?
,
*WAI
, and other commands.
