6.4 Discharging a Patient
You should always perform a discharge before starting monitoring for a new
patient, even if your previous patient was not admitted.
To discharge a patient,
1. SelectPatient Manage.smartkeyDischarge Pat..
2. In the popped up menu, you can:
——Do not chooseStandby, and selectOK, then the monitor will enter
thePat. Informationmenu of the new patient.
SelectOKto save settting of patient’s information and exit.
Select Cancel to exit the current menu, and return to the Patient
Manage.menu.
——ChooseStandbytoYes, and selectOK, the monitor will enter
standby mode after discharging the patient.
——Select Cancel to cancel the discharge operation and return to the
Patient Manage.menu.
6.5 Transfer a Patient with EMS
Emergency mobile server (EMS) has the function of uninterrupted
monitoring .That is, EMS can realize patient transferring between different
monitors. Patient transferring contains: patient information, patient
measurement setup (such as: alarm limit), parameter measurement setup and
patient trend data.
6.5.1 Transferring a Patient with EMS
Warning: While transferring a patient with EMS, it must be sure that
the EMS is battery-powered and with enough capacity.
While transferring a patient to another monitoring location with EMS and
re-admitting the patient at a new monitor, the following steps should be
referred:
1. Disconnect the EMS from the original host monitor. If you are sure that the
patient will not be returning to this monitor, you should perform a discharge or
end-case. This prevents data from the next patient accidentally being mixed up
