Web Manager Security Menu
Options
This section describes the Web Manager Security menu options and related screens in Expert
mode.
Expert - Security - Users and Groups
An administrator can select Expert - Security - Users and Groups to perform the following tasks:
• Set up user accounts
• Assign users to groups to share common authorizations
• Assign or change passwords
• Create new groups
The two default groups are:
• Admin - Read/Write Access
• Regular User - Limited Read/Write Access
CAUTION: For better security, make sure the default password (avocent) for the root and admin users is
changed as soon as possible.

Users and Groups Configure users and groups
Active Ports Sessions View active port sessions
Authentication Configure unit authentication and authentication servers
Services Configure which services and security-related features are enabled on the console
