Web Manager Ports Menu Options
This section describes the Web Manager Ports menu options and related screens in Expert mode.
Expert - Ports - Physical Ports
An administrator can select Expert - Ports - Physical Ports to enable ports, specify a connection
protocol based on the type of connected device, authorize users to access the ports and optionally
configure authentication.
NOTE: By default, all serial ports are disabled from the factory. An administrator needs to enable the ports and
authorize users to access ports.

Menu Selection Use this menu to:
Physical Ports Enable ports, specify a connection protocol based on the type of connected device,
authorize users to access the ports and optionally configure authentication for ports
Virtual Ports Cluster multiple console servers to configure and access a large number of serial ports
(up to 1024) through one IP address
Ports Status View information about the status of each serial port
Ports Statistics View statistics about date transfer
Hostname Discovery Enter probe and answer strings for hostname discovery
