9.4.5 Dismantling the GM Detector
The following parts of the GM detector can be replaced:
Counter tube
detector electronics

Take off cover on connection box and disconnect cables as de-
scribed on page 75.

Unscrew 6 Allen screws (size 4).

Carefully pull electronic base
with electronics
and coun-
ter tube
out of the detector case
.

Now you can do a visual inspection of electronics and counter
tube. Both parts can be replaced separately, if necessary. The
counter tube is fixed to the board by two cable ties and a sili-
con sealing compound.
