Year
Display or enter current year
The year is needed to compensate for the decay of the count rates.
Since the activity of the source decreases in the course of time,
the count rates have to be compensated for automatically using
the date. Therefore, the date always has to be kept up-to-date.
The device includes a capacitor-buffered real-time clock, which
keeps counting the current time for about 1 month even if the de-
vice is turned off.
The device signals a date error if it detects any significant devia-
tion between the actual date and the date last stored. However,
the device continues to work with the stored date.
