10.2.2 Performing a Wipe Test
The wipe test is carried out using cotton swabs soaked in solvent.
Using the cotton swabs, wipe off the alternative test areas. Any
possible contamination is taken up by the cotton swabs. The cotton
swabs are then locked air-tight into a repository (plastic bag or
plastic container) and checked for contamination.

The alternative test area is the head or the visible edge of the
source holder, respectively.
If the cover is also accessible, then you have to wipe there as well.
