Spider DSA User’s Manual

The RCM test allow the software to do the remote condition monitoring on
signals at various sites simultaneously. This feature greatly eliminates relying on
the use of PC’s when doing tests with multiple Spider devices. In RCM, the user
can configure, operate, and monitor up to eight shaker controller systems on only
one screen. The ability of all the Spiders to run in black box mode has been fully
utilized to ensure that the Spider modules keep running whether they are
connected to the host software or not. This makes the RCM extremely reliable at
times even when the cellular connectivity is poor or nonexistent.
Menu Bar
In RCM, the available menus are Project, Setup, Control, View, Layout, Tools,
Report, and Help.
Project Menu
This menu is for creating, opening, saving, and configuring project and tests. Each
project contains up to eight tests. Each test is conducted by an independent
Spider system. Tests are always created under a project and managed by a project.
For example, a user wants to run two sine tests and four random tests with six
shakers simultaneously; he/she needs to create one new project and six new tests
under this project.
A test is a collection of configuration settings and acquired data. By default, EDM
stores the test data, i.e. signals, in the Run Folder in ATFX format. The measured
data can be also saved to the internal flash memory in the front-end hardware if
the user chooses.
