when multiple events across multiple spiders are occurring remotely.
Black Box Mode
Spiders are equipped with a Digital Signal Processor with all the algorithm loaded
into it. This enables the Spider to run by itself without the support from a host PC.
This major advantage, known as the Black Box Mode, is the key element for
remote monitoring. Even when the data connection is lost, or the PC gets shut
down for any reason, the monitoring is not interrupted making the system
extremely robust.
After creating tests, the test must be uploaded to the Spider. The Spider would
then run in the black box mode. While the Spider is running in the black box
mode, EDM would periodically connect to it to extract the essential data to update
the status of each test on the EDM.
