Accessing the Spider-HUB
The Spider-HUB is a network switch following the IEEE 1588 PTP protocol. When
shipped from the factory, all configurations are preset and ready for use. To change
the settings, perform the following instructions by accessing the internal
configuration through a web-service.
1. Configuration changes to the HUB are made through its web-based interface. A web
browser is used to connect to the router and access its setup pages. The connection
is shown in the picture below:
:
2. To connect to the web interface of the Spider-HUB, the computer should be directly
connected to the router with an Ethernet cable. The default IP address for the
router is 192.168.1.110. In order to communicate with it, the IP address on the
computer needs to be changed to the 192.168.1.xxx subnet (subnet mask
255.255.255.0). An IP address of 192.168.1.200 will be used for this example.
3. To change the IP address of the computer, go to the Network and Sharing
Center (for Windows 7) and click on Change Adapter Settings. Select the
adapter that corresponds to the Local Area Network port on the computer that the
router is connected to. Right-click on it and select Properties.
