1 Diagnostic Guidelines
This section contains information to help you monitor operations and
diagnose problems with the coder. Visual and auditory signs will
provide diagnostic guidance.
Signal lights and LED indicators on the user interface module and
the rear of the printhead are designed to help you monitor
operations and diagnose problems. Further details will be displayed
on the Top Level menu.
Diagnostic menus are available for diagnosing specific modules and
components.
CAUTION: Electrical and electronic troubleshooting must be
performed by personnel trained to troubleshoot electrical
circuits. Personnel are endangered when they exceed the
limitations of their training.
NOTE: Industry standard procedures must be followed to protect the
electronics and associated components from damage by
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), as well as to protect the service
person from injury.
1.1 Signal Lights
LED indicators on the print station and on each printhead are used
to monitor the coder. The Top Level menu provides additional
information.
The optional signal tower is also used to monitor the coder.
1.2 LED Indicators on the Print Station
LED indicators are located on the user interface module. The Top
Level Menu provides messages to indicate the nature of the printing
status, ink supply, and fault condition.
The green STATUS LED indicates whether conditions are met for
printing.
The blue INK LED indicates when the coder needs ink.
The amber FAULT LED indicates when the coder needs attention.
