8.2.5 Setting contrast and backlight
easy800-SWD does not have this function. The backlight of the LCD display
can be switched off. The contrast of the display can be set to one of 5
stages. The display is not required during operation. The backlight only needs
to be active during maintenance operations or when texts have to be
displayed.
The backlight switches on automatically when a button is pressed and
switches off 60 s after the last button was pressed. The contrast and
backlight settings are device settings.
▶ Switch to the system menu.
▶ In the system menu choose SYSTEM -> System-> DISPLAY and press
OK.
The menus for setting the contrast and backlight are displayed.
▶ Press the OK pushbutton and change the contrast setting.
▶ Use the cursor buttons Í and
Ú to set a contrast between –2 and +2 and
press OK pushbutton to confirm the setting.
The contrast setting is valid until it is changed again.
▶ Use the cursor buttons Í and Ú to move to the LIGHTING menu.
▶ Press the OK button to define whether the backlight is to be activated or
deactivated.
The tick å indicates that the backlight has been switched on.

is only accessible after the easy800 device has been unlocked
