2.8.2 Connection to a modem
To set up a connection via modems connect a standard modem to the
COM port of your PC and one to the serial interface of the easy800 standard
device.
Modem parameter assignment
Transfer speed 9.6 Kbit/s.
Data format 8-N-1.
Connecting the modem
On the PC side connect the modem via a null modem cable on which
RxD and TxD are reversed.
Connect the easy800 standard device to the modem via an
EASY800-MO-CAB cable.

The timing requirements for fault-free data exchange via the serial interface
are described in section 9.7, “Monitoring the serial interface”, page 327.

CAUTION
You can link up easy800 standard via a modem connection
(9.6 Kbit/s) and locally via a universal high-speed cable (up to
57.6 Kbit/s). If slower access via the modem connection must
be possible after local access, the transfer speed for easy800
standard must be reset to 9.6 Kbit/s.
