3.4 Post-installation check
Perform the following checks after installing the measuring device in the pipe:
Device condition/specifications Notes
Is the device damaged (visual inspection)? -
Does the device correspond to specifications at the measuring point, including
process temperature and pressure, ambient temperature, minimum fluid
conductivity, measuring range, etc.?

Installation Notes
Does the arrow on the sensor nameplate match the direction of flow through the
pipe?

Is the position of the measuring electrode plane correct? → ä 15
Is the position of the empty pipe detection electrode correct? → ä 15
Were all screws tightened to the specified tightening torques when the sensor was
installed?

Were the correct seals installed (type, material, installation)? → ä 21
Are the measuring point number and labeling correct (visual inspection)? -
Process environment / process conditions Notes
Are the inlet and outlet runs respected? Inlet run ≥ 5 × DN
Outlet run ≥ 2 × DN
Is the measuring device protected against moisture and direct sunlight? -
Is the sensor adequately protected against vibration (attachment, support)? Acceleration up to 2 g in
accordance with
IEC 600 68-2-6 → ä 120
