Command Usage
A CDP domain is a logical grouping of devices that exchange CDP packets.
If the switch receives a CDP packet with a different Authentication Key, the
CDP packet is discarded. If the Authentication Key is left at the default value
(null), the switch processes all CDP packets received.
A device that sits between two or more CDP domains should set its
Authentication Key to the default null value.
Example
This example shows how to sets the CDP domain to “R&D3”.
cdp holdtime
Use this command to set the time for retaining information from neighbor devices.
Use the no form to restore the default setting.
Syntax
cdp holdtime seconds
no cdp holdtime
seconds - The time to wait before aging out CDP neighbor information.
(Range: 15-600 seconds).

Command Usage
If the switch fails to receive an update CDP packet from a neighbor device
after the Hold Time has expired, the device entry is aged out of the CDP
neighbor table.
If a neighbor device has a longer Hold Time, the switch waits the additional
time before discarding the entry.
Example
This example shows sets the CDP Hold Time to 300 seconds.
Console(config)#cdp authentication key R&D3
