Before you attempt to install or remove an Extreme Networks switch, read the
precautions in Safety Considerations for Installation on page 60.
About This Task
Extreme Networks switches t into standard 19-inch equipment racks. A two-post rack-
mounting kit is provided with the switch.
The installation process includes the following tasks:
Procedure
1. Prepare to install the switch.

2. Mount the switch, or install the switch in the rack.

3. Connect network interface cables.

4. Install optional components: optical transceivers and cables.
