Turn the key

engine starting;

soon
as
the engine starts, release hold and
key will snap back
to
position
II.
If the engine does
not
start
or
stalls, it
is
neces-
sary
to
turn the ignition key
back
to
position 0
then turn it again
to
position
III
for a new at-
tempt.
Do not step on accelerator pedal unitil the engi-
ne
is
running smoothly.
Do
not insist with repeated starting attempts.
Warning
The engine
is
equipped with an
automatic
fast
idle device operating during cold starting.
WARM ENGINE STARTING
Hot engine starting procedure
is
identical
to
the
procedure for cold starts.
Warning
If after few attempts the engine still does
not
start, investigate on the following points:
1)
The cranking speed
is
too
slow (battery
not
properly charged, oil
too
thick).
2)
Faulty ignition equipment (damp spark plugs,
inoperative coils).
3)
Electric circuits
not
properly insulated.
4) Electric fuel pump fuses burnt out.
MOVING
OFF
- Depress the clutch pedal and engage first
gear.
- Fully loosen the parking brake (see page 87),
engage the clutch opening the
throttle
progres-
sively.
- Change up through the gears
as
required.
In
order
to
obtain reverse it is necessary to press
the
lever downwards before moving it for-
wards.
4) Per
la
messa
in
moto
portare
la
chiave nella
posizione
III;
non appena
il
motore
si
avvia rila-
sciare la chiave che ritornera nella posizione
II.
5e
il
motore
non si avvia 0
si
arresta subito, ri-
portare la chiave nella posizione 0 prima di ef-
fettuare un nuovo avviamento.
Non accelerare bruscamente fino a quando
il
motore
gira regolarmente.
Non insistere con ripetuti tentativi di messa
in
moto.

motore
e
dotato
di
un
dispositivo
automatico
per
il
minimo veloce che entra
in
funzione negli
avviamenti a freddo.
AVVIAMENTO A CALDO
Per I'avviamento a caldo ripetere
Ie
stesse ope-
razioni eseguite per I'avviamento a freddo.
Nota
5e
dopo
alcuni tentativi,
il
motore
non dovesse
avviarsi ricercare una delle seguenti possibili
cause:
1) Insufficiente velocita del
motorino
di avvia-
mento
(batteria scarica, olio
troppo
viscoso 0
troppo
freddo).
2) Dispositivo di accensione
difettoso
(candele
umide, bobine inefficienti).
3) Circuiti elettrici non ben isolati.
4) Fusibile
pompa
benzina bruciato.
AVVIAMENTO DELLA VETTURA
-
Pre
mere a
fondo
il
pedale della frizione e por-
tare
la
leva del cambio
in
posizione 1a velocita.
- Allentare
completamente
il
freno a mano (ve-
di pag. 87). Abbandonare lentamente
il
pedale
della frizione ed accelerare progressivamente.
- Procedere quindi all'innesto delle marce suc-
cessive;
per I'innesto della retromarcia occor-
re premere la leva verso
iI
basso quindi spo-
starla
in
avanti.
