OIL PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE
The red warning light,
incorporated
in
the
oil
pressure gauge, will light up when
the
engine
is
stationary and
the
key
is
in position
II
(running)
or, when the engine
is
running and
the
engine
lacks oil pressure.
In
normal use,
the
light
should
be
out.
The
normal
oil pressure
is
between
71
and 85
p.s.i.
with
engine at
6000
r.p.m. and oil
tempera-
o
tureat212
F.
If,
with
the
engine running at the same speed
and
temperature
the
pressure
is
less than 64
p.s.i.,
the
engine revs should be reduced pro-
perly and
the
reason
for
the
low oil pressure
established.
With
engine
warm
at
idle
condition,
an oil
pres-
sure
lower
than
64 p.s.i.
is
to
be
considered
normal.
The oil pressure
is
adjustable by means
of
the
valve situated on crankcase
front
cover.

Should this
fault
persists, bring
the
car
to
a Fer-
rari Service
for
assembly checking.
Precautions
to
be
taken
when
using
oil
other
than
that
recommended.
Should
for
any reason
other
brands
of
oil be
used,
the
following
procedure
is
recommen-
ded.
1)
Thorougly drain
the
oil
from
the
sump
when
hot.
2) Fill
the
engine with 7,5 qt.
of
the
brand
of
oil
to
be
used and warm at 2500 RP.M.
for
approxi-
matelyten minutes;
re-drain
and
change
the
fil-
ter.
COOLING SYSTEM
The engine cooling
is
carried
out
using a
water
and antifreeze mixture.
As
the
mixture
circula-
tion
is
under
pressure (12.8 p.s.i.)
max
permit-
ted
temperature
is
230

Note
- It
is
necessary
to
reduce
immediately
the
engine RP.M. in case
the
temperature

Should this fault persists, bring

normale
essa
deve

stare
sempre
spenta.
La pressione
normale
dell'olio di lubrificazione
del
motore
e
compresa
tra

kp/cm

e 6
kp/cm
2
quando
il
motore
gira a
6000

tempe-
ratura dell'olio raggiunge

C.
Se
funzionando
nelle stesse condizioni di
tem-
peratura e di regime si riscontra
che
essa
tende
a
scendere
al di
sotto
di 4,5
kp/cm
2
necessita
diminuire
adeguatamente
il
regime del
motore
ed in seguito ricercare la causa dell'abbassa-
mento
della pressione.
Un
valore
di
pressione
inferiore
a 4,5
kp/cm
2
con
motore
caldo
e al
minimo
e
da
ritenersi
normale.
La pressione olio
eregolabile
mediante
una val-
vola situata sui
coperchio
anteriore
del basa-
mento.

Scaricare
completamente
I'olio a
motore
ben caldo,
togliendo
il
tappo
dalla coppa.
2)
Immettere
nel
motore
7 litri di olio del
tipo
da
usare e scaldarlo
facendo
girare
il
motore
a cir-
ca
2500
giri/1'
per
circa 10 minuti; scaricare
nuovamente
e sostituire
il
filtro.
RAFFREDDAMENTO

raffreddamento
del
motore
viene realizzato in
circuito
pressurizzato (0,9

mediante
circolazione di miscela antifreeze. La massima
