Damage caused by unevenly tightening the fastening bolts
The gear unit can be damaged by unevenly tightening the fastening bolts.
Evenly tighten the fastening bolts. When tightening the fastening bolts, make sure that the
gear unit is free of mechanical stress.
5.3.4 Shaft-mounted gear unit with solid shaft5.3 Gear unit assembly
Procedure
To install a gear unit with three-point housing bearings and solid shaft, proceed as follows:
1. Clean the mount on the gear unit housing.
2. Place the gear unit in the bearing shells (to be provided by the customer).
3. Fit the cover at the location bearing end and tighten the cover fastening bolts to the spe-
cified torque (Page75).
4. Install the torque arm (Page68).
