7.3 Taking the unit out of service

Rectifying irregularities in operation
Proceed as follows to rectify any irregularities in operation:
1. Switch off the drive assembly if it exhibits irregular behaviour during operation.
2. Refer to the Fault information (Page91) to find the cause of the fault.
3. If you still cannot determine the fault cause, contact FlenderCustomer Services
(Page95).
7.3 Taking the unit out of service7.3 Taking the unit out of service
If you take the unit out of service for a prolonged period, you must take the following meas-
ures depending on the length of time that the gear unit will remain out of service:
• Switch off the drive aggregate.
• For gear units with a cooling coil or a water-oil cooler:
– Drain the water out of the cooling coil or the water-oil cooler if there is a risk of frost.
– Close the shutoff valves for the cooling water inlet and drain lines.
• For gear units with an oil supply system, perform the following steps before you preserve
the gear unit:
– Detach the connection between the oil supply system and the gear unit.
– Seal the openings in the gear unit and oil supply system so that they are air-tight.
• Take measures to preserve the gear unit if it is to be out of service for a prolonged
period. Follow the procedure described in instructions7300.
