6.3 Running the Getting Started Wizard
l Assign the interface to a VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network).
l Indicate whether the interface IP address will be used to externally identify the system
(external host IP address).
l Specify the types of traffic allowed on the interface (management, replication, or
data).
l Specify the NAT address that the interface is mapped to if it is used for replication
through a NAT firewall.
l Add routing information for an interface to enable connectivity with devices on
different subnets.
You can choose to allow any traffic type (management, replication, or data) on
an interface. In this case, the routing of different traffic types, as well as firewall
capability, must be controlled using the network infrastructure (routers and
switches) that the ETERNUS CS800 is connected to.
The iRMC port of the server cannot be configured through the Web GUI of the
ETERNUS CS800. Using the iRMC port is typically not necessary. For example the
hardware monitoring of the iRMC is also included by the monitoring of the
CS800 itself. If you nevertheless want to connect the iRMC to your network, you
have to change its network settings either through the servers' BIOS (see
PRIMERGY RX2540 M1 Server D3289 BIOS Setup Utility) or through the
ServerView iRMC Web Server as described in the iRMC S4 - integrated Remote
Management Controller manual).
The default settings of the iRMC Web Server are:
l IP address: 10.17.21.199 with network mask 255.255.255.0 and gateway IP
10.17.21.254
l login: admin with password admin
The service port of the ETERNUS CS800 cannot be configured and should not be
connected to the LAN.
Configuring the network includes the following major steps:
Before configuring the network, work with your network administrator to
determine the network settings that will be required to properly integrate the
ETERNUS CS800 with your companys network.
