18. Open the cover of the [DISTRESS] button on the terminal unit or the Distress
Alert Unit/Received Call Unit IC-305.
19. Press the [DISTRESS] button until the lamp in the button lights continuously
(about four seconds).
The distress alert will not be transmitted until the lamp in the button lights
continuously and the audio alarm sounds. The message “Sending Distress
Alert” appears on the screen while the distress alert is being transmitted.
When you receive acknowledgment of the distress alert from an LES, the
message “Distress Acknowledgement Received” appears on the screen, the
lamp flashes slowly and the audio alarm sounds intermittently. To silence the
audio alarm, press the [F10] key on the keyboard.
