8.3.5 Restricting outgoing message size
The FELCOM15 administrator may limit the size of outgoing messages. When a
PC client attempts to send an e-mail message which is larger than permitted, the
message “Data size too large” appears and the message is not sent.
Note that attachments are encoded which increases messages by 1.5 times.
Procedure
1. Press [F8] and [2] to display the System Setup menu.
2. Press the [↓] or [↑] key to choose Network Setup and then press the [Enter]
key.
3. Press the [↓] key to choose Mail Gateway and then press the [Enter] key.
4. Press the [↓] key to choose Send Limit Size (KB) and then press the [Enter]
key.
5. Press the [↓] or [↑] key to choose maximum message size to send within
shipboard LAN. The choices are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 16 and 32 (KB).
6. Press the [Enter] key.
7. Press the [Esc] key to show Update window.
8. Yes is selected; press the [Enter] key to update settings.
9. Press the [Esc] key three times to return to the standby display.
