4.3.2 Faults decoding
Fault codes shown by the IIDTool are based in part on the list of DTC Fault codes (Data Trouble Code)
from the ISO 15031 standard specication*. These standardized codes are complemented by Jaguar
Land Rovers manufacturer specic codes. The IIDTool decodes fault codes and provides the descrip-
tion. Here’s the structure:
*L322-02, L322-06 and L316, some ECUs do not respect this standard.
Structure of Fault codes provided by the IIDTool
The code consists of four (4) distinct elements sometimes followed by a textual denition referring to
one of the elements (Def):

Element : Alphanumeric code of 5 characters, standardized DTC (Data Trouble Code).
Denition
The textual denition of the second element is located after the 4th element of the fault code provided
by the IIDTool.
