The Main Screen
The Main screen provides the most important status and activity information for the Analyzer and
offers you two primary options:
• Press the Start Analysis button to initiate TOC measurements with the most current
Analyzer settings. Once analysis begins, the button changes to Stop Analysis.
• Press the Menu button to display the Menu screen and change the Analyzer’s settings.

The Main screen is divided into three areas:
1. The Header contains the name of the screen, the date and time, and status icons
representing the following conditions:
•The Key icon (
³) displays when basic Password security is enabled.
• The Padlock icon (
±) displays when DataGuard is enabled.
Note: If Password security or DataGuard is enabled, you will be required to log in before
accessing the Menu screen or starting analysis. See “Using Password Protection” on
page 125 and “Using DataGuard” on page 126 for more information.
