8.5 Detecting VCA Alarm
Purpose:
You can set detection rules for VCA events, including Line Crossing Detection and Intrusion Detection, and then
configure the linkage actions for the VCA alarm.
Steps:
1. Enter the VCA settings interface and select a camera for the VCA settings.
Menu> Camera> VCA
2. Configure the detection rules for VCA events.
The line crossing detection settings and intrusion detection settings you configured on the DVR /
HDVR side are only supported by analog cameras 01~04.
Task 1: Line Crossing Detection
When people, vehicles or other objects go across a pre-defined virtual line, the line crossing detection alarm
is triggered. The line crossing direction can be set as bidirectional, from left to right or from right to left.
1) Select Line Crossing Detection from the drop-down list as the VCA event type.
2) Check the checkbox of Enable to enable the line crossing detection function.
3) Select the virtual line rule from the drop-down list of Line.
4) Click the icon and then click on the live video to specify the two endpoints for the virtual line.
You can click the icon to clear the line rules on the live video.
5) Select the direction for the line crossing detection.
A->B: Only the object crossing the line from the A side to the B side can be detected.
B->A: Only the object crossing the line from the B side to the A side can be detected.
A<->B: The object crossing the line from directions (A->B and B->A) can both be detected.
6) Click-and-drag the sensitivity bar to set the sensitivity for the line crossing detection.
7) Click Apply to save the new settings.
Up to 4 virtual lines can be set for the line crossing detection.
The sensitivity value ranges from 1 to 100, and the default value is 50. The larger the value is, the
higher the detection sensitivity is.
