80286 Clock
The 80286 processor clock
is
generated by the 82284 clock chip.
A 16 MHz crystal
serves
as
the
input
to
the 82284 oscillator. The
82284
outputs a 16 MHz signal which
serves
as
the input clock
for
the 80286.
(This
signal
is
called
PROCCLK
in
the schematics.)
This
signal
is
divided by
two
to
get the 8 MHz
SYSCLK
signal
which
is
present on the I/O channel.
In
addition, the
82284
provides power-on reset and wait-state synchronization.
