5 VLAN Configuration
About This Chapter
The following sections describe how to configure and query VLAN and interface information.
A local area network can be devided into several logical LANs. Each logical LAN is a
broadcast domain, which is called a virtual LAN (VLAN). To put it simply, deveices on a
LAN are logically grouped into different LAN segments, regardless of their pgysical locations.
VLANs isolate broadcast domains on a LAN.
5.1 Configuring Static VLAN
Use the VLAN > Static (Configure VLAN) page to create or remove VLAN, modify VLAN,
edit/show member by VLAN, edit/show member by interface, edit/show member by interface
range. To propagate information about VLAN groups used on this switch to external network
devices, you must specify a VLAN ID for each of these groups.
5.1.1 Creating a Static VLAN
1. Click VLAN > Static. Select Add from the Action list. Figure 5-1 is displayed.

2. Enter a VLAN ID or range of IDs. See Table 5-1 for the parameters description.
